Weird weather continues across Utah

A warm snowstorm hit Utah Monday and Tuesday, dumping more snow on mountains and valleys alike. At this writing Springville City had picked up 8 inches. Brighton Ski Resort had 22 inches of new; Alta received 20.

Record warm low temperatures were recorded in many areas. The overnight low in Provo was a toasty 42 degrees. New records were set from Brian Head on the south to Coalville and Evanston on the north.

Warm, wet weather has prompted concern about flood danger, particularly in the St George area where similar conditions produced severe flooding a few weeks ago. So far, no problems have been reported. Major roads are all open and in good shape. Mountain roads in remote areas may be snowpacked for a few days, until crews have a chance to clear them.

There will be a chance of snow every day this week, so use caution when traveling.
