A big, cold storm is expected to move
over Utah Friday, dropping rain in valleys and snow at higher
elevations. The snow level will drop over the weekend and northern
Utah valleys will probably see snow on the ground before the storm
ends.
Take care traveling. If you plan
recreation in mountain areas, you now need to start being concerned
about avalanche danger. Avalanche control work is performed regularly
at developed ski resorts and along major highways. Backcountry areas
may become dangerous. Watch the Utah
Avalanche Center website for information and current conditions.
