Alta gets first snowfall of season

β€œIt is currently snowing in Town of Alta!! That is right, the Greatest Snow on Earth has begun to fly in Alta in the month of September. Looking out the window towards the High Rustler run, the snow is coming down sideways: sticking to the trees and covering the rocks. Accumulations appear to be about one inch, possibly more up high. As the clouds open and allow glimpses up to the top of Mt. Baldy and Point Supreme the snowfall is more defined and widespread at the higher elevations. It is never too early to get the skis waxed up for another year of powder in Alta. After 697” of snow last year, this upcoming season has already gotten off on the right note.”

-- Nick Como sent the above to Ski Utah on Sept 12.
